Neer Mor | Neer Moar – Spiced Buttermilk

Neer Mor is made with fresh yogurt which is diluted and spiced. Since this is a diluted form of yogurt, it is low in calories and is highly recommended as one of the food to eat/drink when dieting.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Yogurt Fresh homemade
  • 4 cups Water
  • to taste Salt
  • 10 leaves Curry leaves Torn
  • 4 tablespoon Cilantro Finely chopped
  • ½ inch piece Ginger Finely chopped
  • 1 Green chilies Sliced lengthwise
  • ¼ teaspoon Asafetida

TO SEASON –

  • ½ teaspoon Oil
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon Asafetida

Instructions

  • Combine the yogurt and the water and whisk it vigorously to combine.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and mix it well.
  • Heat the oil and temper with mustard seeds and asafetida. Add it to the buttermilk and mix well.
  • Buttermilk tastes great when chilled. So chill the buttermilk for a couple of hours before serving.
  • Also if preferred, strain the buttermilk before drinking.
