Aloo Raita | Potato Raita

One of the easiest raita recipe is this Aloo Raita. This potato raita recipe needs just a handful of ingredients and is a great side for whole grain roti and biriyani.

  • 2 medium Aloo / potato Boiled
  • 1 ½ cup Yogurt
  • to taste Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Chili powder
  • a good handful Cilantro Finely chopped


  • Boil the potatoes and mash them up or cut them into bite-size pieces. I peel the potatoes and then microwave it to cook it. For a couple of potatoes, it just takes 5 minutes in the microwave.
  • In a bowl whisk the yogurt and add all the spices, salt, and sugar along with the cilantro.
  • Add the boiled potatoes and mix them up.
  • Serve this chilled with roti and/or rice.
