chocolate covered pretzel

This chocolate covered Pretzels are the easiest and the most fun to make snack or an edible gift. This chocolate pretzel recipe is so quick to make with just 3 ingredients and a great activity to do with kids.

3 Ingredient Chocolate Covered Pretzels

These 3 Ingredient Chocolate Covered Pretzels, actually can go under 2 ingredient recipes. This week I am working on 3 ingredient recipes and after the&nbsp ;3 Ingredient Old Fashioned Kettle Corn Popcorn and 3 Ingredient Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, I am posting this very tempting pretzel recipe.

A little background about our family's relationship with pretzel is important before we get to the recipe. I have never liked the crunchy pretzels ever and never bought it until my little one tasted it first time in his preschool and started to love it.

He would cry for the pretzels every we went shopping. Since none of the others at home (me and my husband and my older one) really cared about pretzel, we never bought it frequently.

Maybe keepping my little one off of the pretzel made him even more crazy about it. He absolutely loves it and it is a regular in our house. There is a bag of pretzel always in the pantry and my little one is the only person who eats them.

Why make these chocolate pretzels

Now the story is different when it comes to chocolate coated pretzels. Each and everyone in the house is crazy about it and the whole batch is finished before I know it.

I am the only one who still has nothing to do with it and I am not fighting along with them to decide who gets the last piece. This time, I made a small batch as I was making it for the first time and it was gone within minutes.

I used both milk chocolate and semi sweet chocolate chips to coat the pretzels. You could use all semi sweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate or any chocolate of your choice.

Make sure you melt the chocolate using the correct technique. I melted mine in the microwave. We could also use the double boiler and melt the chocolate. I made about 24 chocolate covered pretzels yesterday.

Ingredients to make Chocolate Covered Pretzels

  • Pretzels - 24 to 30 pieces
  • Chocolate chips or milk chocolate or any chocolate of your choice - 1 cup
  • Sprinkles (optional) - as needed

Procedure to make 3 Ingredient Chocolate Covered Pretzels -

  • Gather all the the ingredients and keep them ready. Layer a baking sheet with parchment and keep it ready. We will be placing the chocolate covered pretzels on this to harden.

  • I used the microwave to melt the chocolate. Place the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. I used both semi sweet chocolate chip and Hershey's Milk chocolate bar.
  • Microwave the chocolate for a minute in 50% power. Remove it from the microwave and stir well. Now return to the microwave and heat it in 20 seconds interval at 50% power level until the chocolate has melted completely. It took me about 2 minutes 30 seconds to melt the chocolate completely. Make sure you stir the chocolate well after each round of heating.
  • Drop a pretzel into the melted chocolate and coat it entirely with the chocolate. Use a fork and take the coated pretzel out. Let it drip for couple of seconds and then place the pretzel on the prepared tray. Repeat the same with the rest of the pretzels.
  • Sprinkle the sprinkles over the coated pretzels. Place the pretzels in the refrigerator for about an hour to harden.

  • They remain fresh in an airtight container for about couple of weeks. If the temperature is warm, then I would store them in the refrigerator as they could melt.

I love these pretzels but we don't get them in Mombasa. Once I bought a saltless packet and it tasted so bland, didn't know what to do with them. Wish I had your recipe back then, would have dipped them in chocolate and they would have disappeared in no time.

Yea I guess it happens with kids that they are fond of a particular one and would always want it...this snack sounds so sinful. I would love to dig in them myself!
